Law takes pole for Grand Prix of Miami

HOMESTEAD, Fla. (AP)—Darren Law was one of nine drivers to breakHomestead-Miami Speedway’s old track record for Daytona Prototype sports cars,as he captured the pole Friday for the Grand Prix of Miami, the second race ofthe 2010 Rolex Sports Car Series season.

Law, driving the No. 59 Brumos Porsche that won the series season finalelast year at Homestead, had a fast lap of 115.310 mph on the 2.3-mile roadcourse. He’ll share the ride in Saturday’s race with co-driver David Donohue.

“We always run well at Homestead, and the Brumos car was very, very good asthe tires came up,” Law said.

In the production-based GT class, eight drivers broke the previous trackrecord—led by polesitter Paul Edwards’ 106.332-mph lap in a ChevroletCorvette.
