Sprint Cup drivers pleased with tires

DARLINGTON, S.C. (AP)—Elliott Sadler says anyone having problems withGoodyear’s tire should look to their raceshop and not point fingers at themanufacturer.
Sadler and fellow Sprint Cup drivers Marcos Ambrose and Clint Bowyer came toDarlington Raceway on Tuesday to check the dormant track and give Goodyear a fewinsights about what tire to bring for May’s Southern 500.
Sadler says he heard the complaints from some after last week’s race atAtlanta Motor Speedway. He thought Goodyear had provided the best tire for thetrack in years and counseled competitors to work on better set ups to preventblowouts and tire wear.
Bowyer said the only problem at Darlington was needing a few laps to blowsome of the sand and grit off the surface in the 10 months since the Sprint Cuprace.
